We are looking for a confident and proactive German- and English-speaking Exhibition Host / Promoter for our booth at Security Essen 2026.

This is not a passive reception role. An important part of the job is to proactively engage visitors and suitable passers-by, start natural conversations, and invite interested people to our booth.

Main Tasks

• Welcome and acknowledge every visitor to the booth.

• Proactively approach and engage suitable passers-by.

• Start friendly, natural conversations.

• Understand at a general level what the visitor is looking for.

• Provide basic information about MyVMS based on prepared training materials.

• Invite visitors to watch or join an ongoing product demonstration when appropriate.

• Manage visitor flow when the founder is already speaking with someone.

• Continue talking with waiting visitors and make sure nobody is ignored.

• Collect business cards and contact information when appropriate.

• Distribute relevant leaflets and informational materials.

• Keep the reception and visitor area organized.

Preparation Before the Exhibition

The selected person will receive:

• Prepared booth scripts explaining how to greet visitors and handle different visitor situations.

• Visitor-flow instructions explaining what to do when several people arrive, when the founder is occupied, and when someone needs to wait.

• Short MyVMS product leaflets and product information covering the products and solutions presented at the exhibition.

The selected person is expected to study these materials before the exhibition and know the basic information well enough to communicate naturally with visitors.

The scripts are guidelines, not a rigid questionnaire. The person should understand the logic and be able to communicate naturally.

Requirements

• Fluent German and English.

• Confident and natural communication with strangers.

• Proactive — comfortable initiating conversations rather than waiting for visitors to approach.

• Able to communicate with several visitors and manage a busy booth.

• Able and willing to study the provided scripts, leaflets and basic MyVMS product information before the exhibition.

• Able to remember and explain basic product information in their own words.

• Professional and friendly appearance and behavior.

• Previous exhibition, promotion, customer-facing or sales experience is preferred.

Role Boundaries

This is not a Sales Manager or Technical Specialist position.

The Host / Promoter is not expected to:

• conduct detailed technical demonstrations;

• answer technical questions they are unsure about;

• negotiate prices or commercial terms;

• conduct detailed sales qualification;

• make commitments on behalf of the company.

Technical questions, detailed demonstrations and commercial discussions will be handled by the founder.

Main Purpose

The goal is not simply to stand at the booth and wait.

Welcome visitors, actively help start conversations, keep visitors engaged when the founder is occupied, and make sure potential visitors do not simply walk away unnoticed.
